Meet our herd of hundreds of reindeer, feed them by hand and try your luck with a traditional lasso. In around 3 hours, including transfers from Tromsø, you'll get a memorable introduction to Sámi reindeer-herding life. After a scenic 30–35 minute drive along the coast, we arrive at our reindeer camp, where the herd will be waiting for you. When you need to warm up, step inside our gamme for tea, coffee, hot chocolate and cookies around the fire. We finish the visit together in the lavvu, where your Sámi guide will share stories about our culture, traditions and life as a reindeer herder, before finishing with a traditional joik. This shorter experience does not include lunch, making it ideal for guests who want to meet the reindeer and experience Sámi culture while keeping more of the day free.

Morning tour: meeting 09.40, departure 10.00, back in Tromsø approximately 13.00. Afternoon tour: meeting 13.10, departure 13.30, back approximately 16.30.
There are two entrances to the terminal — our buses depart from the bus side of the building. Look out for our guides in blue “Tromsø Arctic Reindeer” jackets, and please arrive with time to spare so we can depart promptly.

Our buses have only a limited number of booster seats. If you require a baby seat, we recommend arranging a taxi with the appropriate child seat.

We are a Sámi reindeer-herding family in Tromsø and have lived and worked with reindeer for many generations. Together with our herd of hundreds of reindeer, we welcome you to share our culture, traditions and way of life.
When you come to our camp you are not visiting an attraction — you are visiting the place where we live and work, and we would like to share it with you.
